Playing in her 22nd USGA championship and 16th Women’s Mid-Am … Won 2004 championship, defeating Virginia Grimes at Holston Hills C.C. in Knoxville, Tenn. … Reached semifinals in 2003 and quarterfinals in 2001, 2005, 2010 … Lost to Noreen Mohler in first round of 2011 Women’s Mid-Am … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Kim Carrington, 5 and 4 (first round), medalist Dawn Woodard, 1 up (second round) and Mina Hardin, 4 and 3 (third round)…Born Feb. 11, 1962 in San Diego.

Debbie Adams, 45, of Ashville, N.C.

Playing in her seventh USGA championship and fourth Women’s Mid-Am … With her win in the third round, Adams is exempt into next year’s championship which is being held at her home course, Biltmore Forest C.C. … Lost in the third round of the 1988 U.S. Women’s Amateur … Made match play twice in the Women’s Mid-Am, losing in the second round in 2004 and the first round in 2010 … She missed match play by three strokes at the 2011 Women’s Mid-Am … Won three collegiate tournaments while an undergraduate at Ohio State … Won gold medals as an individual and as a member of the United States team in the 1993 Maccabiah Games in Israel … Is a second degree black belt in karate and first degree black belt in kubudo … Is the high school golf coach at Carolina Day School … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Julie Carmichael, 1 up (first round), Brenda Pictor, 2 and 1 (second round) and Wendi Golden, 3 and 2 (third round) … Born Dec. 30, 1966 in Philadelphia.

Stacy Dennis, 39, of Huntsville, Texas

Playing in her fifth USGA championship and third Women’s Mid-Am … The 2012 Women’s Mid-Am is the first time she has won a match in a USGA championship, though she advanced to match play in the 1999 WAPL and the 2000 and 20001 Women’s Mid-Am … She is a two-time Texas Women’s State Amateur champion (2004, 2009) … She was president of the Women’s Texas State Golf Association in 2011 … Graduated from Texas A&M in 1996 and serves as the club manager for the Elkins Lake Recreation Corporation … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Lisa Schlesinger, 3 and 2 (first round), Holly Bare, 2 and 1 (second round) and Tobi Herron, 1 up (third round) … Born June 13, 1973 in San Angelo, Texas

Playing in her 15th USGA championship and seventh Women’s Mid-Am … Three-time champion of Women’s Mid-Am (2006, 2007, 2010) … Member of winning 2008 USA Curtis Cup Team … Won seven consecutive Philadelphia Women’s Championships (1999 to 2005) … Graduated from Tulane University in 2000 … Husband, Danny, owns Shuck n’ Dive restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. … Served as the women’s golf coach at the University of Mississippi from 2000-2007 … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Connie Isler, 6 and 5 (first round), Lynne Cowan, 21 holes (second round) and Kelley Nittoli, 2 up (third round) … Erased 5-down deficit with six holes to play in second-round match with Cowan … Born May 30, 1978 in Voorhees, N.J.

Andrea Kraus, 52, of Baltimore, Md.

Playing in her 22nd USGA championship and 12th Women’s Mid-Am … Reached the quarterfinals of the 2003 Women’s Mid-Am … Playing in the first group off the 10th tee in the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am, she holed her 9-iron approach for an eagle-2 … Has represented Maryland in seven USGA Women’s State Team Championships … Won the 2012 Maryland Women’s Amateur, Women’s Mid-Amateur and Senior Women’s Amateur … Reinstated as an amateur in August 2010 … Made a hole-in-one less than 24 hours before giving birth to her son, Matthew … Lost to Se Ri Pak in the 1995 U.S. Women’s Amateur … Graduated from Yale University in 1982 … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Daria Cummings, 5 and 4 (first round), Leslie Folsom, 6 and 5 (second round) and Tara Fleming, 3 and 1 (third round) … Born Sept. 23, 1960 in Baltimore, Md.

Laura Coble, 48, of Augusta, Ga.

Playing in her 17th USGA championship and 12th Women’s Mid-Am … Runner-up to Martha Leach in 2009 U.S. Women’s Mid-Am and reached the quarterfinals in 2005, 2006 and 2010 … A member of the Georgia squad that won the USGA Women’s State Team Championship in 2005, 2009 and 2011 … Participated on a mission trip to Alabama in 2011 to help with tornado clean-up. Liz Waynick, 52, of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Playing in her second USGA championship and first Women’s Mid-Am … Missed the cut by one stroke at the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open at The Broadmoor … For past 2½ years, has served as a prosecutor for the Ministry of Justice in British Columbia … Graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2005 and earned law degree from University of Victoria … Three-time champion of the Canadian Women’s Mid-Amateur (2009, 2011, 2012) … Advanced to the second stage of LPGA Tour Q School in 2001 … Plays hockey in a women’s league in Canada … At the 2012 Women’s Mid-Am defeated Terry Levis, 6 and 5 (first round), Liisa Kelo Escartin, 4 and 3 (second round) and four-time Women’s Mid-Am champion Ellen Port, 3 and 1 (third round) … Born Jan. 4, 1983 in British Columbia, Canada.
