Winged Foot Golf Club, in Mamaroneck, N.Y., restored all of the greens on its famed West Course in 2017. Using ground and aerial photos from the 1920s, a team led by architect Gil Hanse and Director of Golf Courses Steve Rabideau expanded the greens to their original size – 15 to 25 percent larger than they were for the 2006 U.S. Open.
