U.S. Junior Amateur Home | U.S. Girls' Junior Home

The two biggest weeks in junior golf are set to take place at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio (U.S. Junior Amateur) and SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wis. (U.S. Girls’ Junior).

Not only are the best players under the age of 19 descending on these two fine layouts, the prize for the respective champions will be exemptions into the 2020 U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club and the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Champions Golf Club. The champion and runner-up also earn spots in next month’s U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Every junior golfer aspires to win their respective competition, as evidenced by the fields they attract, including top players from all over the globe.

More importantly, the champion will have his/her name inscribed on a USGA trophy as well as on a plaque that commemorates every 2019 champion in the USGA Museum’s Hall of Champions.

FS1 will showcase these future stars with live broadcasts of the final two days of each championship.

The list of U.S. Junior Amateur champions includes Johnny Miller, Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth. Two years ago, Matthew Wolff was the Junior Amateur runner-up, and now he’s a PGA Tour winner. On the girls’ side, champions include some of game’s greatest players, such as JoAnne Gunderson Carner, Nancy Lopez, Amy Alcott, Lexi Thompson, Inbee Park and Ariya Jutanugarn, all of whom have gone on to win major championships.
