-Earned No. 5 seed after posting rounds of 71-69 in stroke play
-Defeated Germany’s Claudio Consul in 22 holes, the longest match of the championship, in the Round of 32.
-Posted a 4-and-3 victory over Kory Bowman in the Round of 16
-Competing in his third USGA championship and second U.S. Mid-Amateur
-His brother-in-law Stephen Woodard advanced to the Round of 32 in this championship
-Partnered with Woodard in the 2016 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball at Winged Foot Golf Club, where they won this year's Andersen Memorial Tournament
-Won his second Charlotte City Amateur by one stroke at Charlotte Country Club on Aug. 26
-Works as a financial advisor and is a member at Carolina Golf Club, this year’s U.S. Mid-Amateur stroke-play co-host course
