Fourteen players have earned exemptions into the 2019 U.S. Senior Open Championship due to their finishes on the Staysure Tour (European Senior Tour) and Japan Senior Tour. The 40th U.S. Senior Open Championship will be contested June 27-30 at The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame (Ind.).

These exemptions were increased for the 2019 championship from six to 10 for the Staysure Tour and from two to four for the Japan Senior Tour.

Paul Broadhurst, 53, of England, won the John Jacobs Trophy for a second time in three years by topping the Staysure Tour’s Order of Merit. He was already exempt for the 2019 U.S. Senior Open thanks to his tie for fifth in the 2018 Senior Open at The Broadmoor as well as his senior major-championship victories in the 2018 Senior PGA Championship and the 2016 Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie.

Winners of the last five Senior PGA Championships and Senior Open Championships, conducted by The R&A, are exempt into the U.S. Senior Open, as are the top 15 and ties from the previous U.S. Senior Open.

The other nine players from the Staysure Tour to earn exemptions via the money list are Phillip Price (Wales), Stephen Dodd (Wales), Clark Dennis (USA), Magnus P. Atlevi (Sweden), Chris Williams (South Africa), Peter Fowler (Australia), Gary Orr (Scotland), Paul Streeter (England) and Jean-Francois Remesy (France). Streeter, a former soccer player who turned pro at the age of 31, won twice on the circuit in 2018.

Prayad Marksaeng, 52, of Thailand, topped the Japan Senior Tour money list. He posted five victories on the circuit in 2018, including the Japan Senior Open, and owns 13 overall titles on the Japan Senior Tour since turning 50 in 2016.

The other three exemptions were garnered by Toru Suzuki (Japan), Gregory Meyer (USA) and Jong-Duck Kimi (Republic of Korea).
